Micro-Pellets are Just the Right Size

Challenge

How do you make a micro-pellet of Rigid PVC that contains a loading of (up to) 15% of 3M^TM iM30K Performance Additives without crushing the hollow glass microspheres?

Solution

Aspen looked at the material properties and determined what forces could be applied to promote the introduction of the glass microspheres into the PVC without crushing them, developed a die based on the clients desired specifications and optimized the process for throughput.  The resulting material is pretty amazing as you can tell by the picture.
